Trying to stay tuned into the meeting while @IamMrsGeek is over there in my peripheral vision on an exercise machine.
It’s
uh
distractingly jiggly

#PKM suggestion: if your notes take or start from a journal form, and you like to log highlights of the meeting, and you have a daily recurring meeting?

@thegibson my parsing of this matches my current opinion about Monday.
I may feel better after caffeine.

A long time ago I wrote a text templating library in Ruby (v1.6). All it had was variables, looping, branching, and drilling into an object. A dozen method aliases for the verbs my brain kept reaching for when using it, but no other meta-programming because I felt that was overkill. I wanted it focused and friendly.

The hummingbirds panic when I pull down the feeder to clean and refresh contents.
Always very happy to see it go back up though.

Moving to Arizona means I get to see the pop up shops selling embarrassing Trump regalia on the side of the road.
A younger and more energetically caustic me would’ve considered grabbing some for adversarial art projects.

@nhan nah. I routinely cycle through a few I use often enough that I call them my primaries. That would be Logseq, Obsidian, and Kinopio.
Then there’s another large handful I revisit routinely to see if maybe they’ve progressed to be a better fit since last time. Plus, I’m always poking at new shiny toys as they enter my field of view.

The energy drink is so tasty (red bull strawberry apricot) but I know I’m gonna have so much regret because there’s always a bigger crash than with coffee.
but tasty

Estimated high of 90F. Is it winter now?

@jnkrtech it gives my eyeballs wings!
No it’s funny though. Red Bull’s the one that usually gives me more clarity. But I do get caffeine / sugar / WTF buzzes and crashes, regardless of source.

@WuMargaret @grmpyprogrammer we’ve got additional family living with us, and they’re usually making their noise from their room upstairs while gaming.
I could maybe get an “On The Air” light to place over their computers which I could flash on and off as needed.

Persistently frustrated at how “Orwellian” has effectively lost any meaning, partly from age and partly from how it’s just current normal + plot drama.

@detritus I saw how they were useful for certain jobs, but pagers were my first “no thanks” for personal prestige tech.
The idea of being interruptible anywhere just annoyed the heck out of me. Honestly I dragged my feet for a few years on mobile phones too.

Thing is, even if LLMs worked perfectly as advertised — and the magic wand was waved over the resource consumption issue — I’d ration my use. Automation blindness is a huge issue for me, where streams of generated output all kind of blur together and I miss critically important mistakes or just things that weren’t quite what I meant.
Judging by tales of ChatGPT-generated legal defenses this is not just a me problem.

Neighbor complimenting the health of our pups with “how are your pups so lean and fit? my dog doesn’t look like that but you do take them on a lot of walks”
It was all very nice if somewhat awkward. Had to remind myself that her pup is an absolute bratwurst of a wiener dog.

We saw the new Beetlejuice movie and enjoyed it. It wasn’t awe-inspiring or anything (though the performance of “MacArthur Park” was impressive) but I don’t think it was trying to be.
