@HeNeArXn Yep but at best a bit of gallows humor.
@bitprophet sometimes I even run them!
@laren oh I need to catch up on the 20th anniversary books.
Ran some amazing stories across the 5 main titles.
@IamMrsGeek yay I made food and we’re not dead!
I think.
@AUROnline @esther@strangeobject.space imagining what wonders might exist if we let them do something else.

First job I’ve had where everyone had the same last day since 2009 or so.
The exchange of parting GIFs is a nice touch.
One sticks around for the GIFs, says their goodbyes, and logs out.
alternately, one stays on until the last moment to make sure it’s dead
ready for a double tap just in case
Search not working. People not seeing their replies. Content not loading.
Twitter’s like my self-hosted ActivityPub server, but at $44 billion instead of $12/month.
@mjgardner Now! Through the ⭐ POWER OF IMAGINATION ⭐
@WuMargaret durn tootin'

@LitMoose @bitprophet I can do both, right? I was planning on both. I get the whole year! I hope.
@DrAnneCarpenter @shengokai I can confirm that it is indeed poorer for it. Some great BIPOC folks over the years who found the Fediverse too much trouble, with every marginally uncomfortable post subject to demands for CW.
And yep sure enough, spent a couple seconds looking at my Rules file (the ruby code that drives a Nanoc site build) and I was rebuilding the complete map of site tags for every page.
Fixed that so the tab map only gets built once, and build time goes from 23s using 3.2+YJIT to 8s.
Easiest performance optimization: be smarter than you were yesterday.
Ain’t no benchmark like an unscientific ad hoc benchmark
Nanoc builds sites faster with 3.2.0

@joelle it would be nice if more kids (and adults) were given the tools to deal with matters of personal identity as more than a checklist of unexamined assumptions.
